Vintage Buka Basket

Our Vintage Buka Basket is a pristine example of this tight woven and durable basketry from PNG. We love the natural patina of the aged grass and find it to be a natural companion to any styling moment.  It is in excellent condition with no holes or breaks.  Buka basketry originated and gets its name from Buka Island, on the northern end of the Autonomous Region of Bougainville, which is now considered a part of Papua New Guinea, formerly part of the Solomon Islands.
